What is a Spa Treatment?

Spa treatments will offer a wide range of services that offer health and physical benefits to a client. If you are visiting a spa for a single treatment or a package that offers multiple treatments, here are some of the most popular treatments spas provide.

Massages – Although there are many massage techniques that spas provide, the most popular are Swedish massage and deep tissue massage. Swedish massage will look at working the whole body using deep focused work. Deep tissue massage, on the other hand, will focus on tight areas of the body. Aromatherapy massage has also recently become popular and looks at using essential oils to relax and rejuvenate clients.

Specialty massages – Specialty massages are not available at all spas and therefore will require a bit of research. Specialty massages include Thai massage or reflexology plus sports massages that look at relieving the pain caused due to sports activities or injuries.

Facials – Most spas will offer a wide variety of facials, and they often include anti-aging facials, European facials or deep-cleansing facials. Facials will follow the following basic steps and include cleanse, exfoliate, extract, massage and mask. The different types of facials are based on the products that are used. Other facial extras can include treatments for acne and scarring like a gentle peel, a special serum or LED light therapy.

Body treatments – Body treatments will offer a basic body scrub that exfoliates dead and loose skin followed by a special lotion that is kept on the body for approximately 30 minutes.
